Robert Louis Byers
Robert Byers, 88, of Chaska, died Friday, Sept. 18, 2009 at St. Gertrude's Health Care Center, Shakopee.
There will be a private family graveside service at Fort Snelling National Cemetery per Robert's wishes.
Robert was born March 13, 1921 in New Rockford, N.D. to Louis and Minnie (O'Neil) Byers, one of three children. He served in the United States Navy from 1944-1946 as a Seaman First Class and baker. On Nov. 25, 1951 Robert married Frances Couty. Robert had been in the bakery industry for over 50 years. He is former owner of Bobby's Bakery in Glen Lake, Minn. He was a gentle man, great dad, and loved animals.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gene; sister, Jeanette.
Survivors include his wife, Frances; children, Cynthia (******) Walker of Shakopee, Mike (Marcy) Byers of Chaska, Tom (Dawn) Byers of Grand Forks, N.D., Robert Jr. Byers of Chaska, Larry Pearson of Arizona, Craig Pearson of Arizona; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were with the Bertas Funeral Home of Chaska, 952-448-2137.
