Julia Etta See was born September 14, 1877 on a farm north of Glenwood, Mo. and passed away at the Putnam County Memorial Nursing Home at Unionville, Mo, on November 27, 1970 at the age of 93 years, two months and thirteen days.
She was the daughter of Bolliver and Victoria (Newman) Morris and lived her entire life in Schuyler County, Mo. On June 25, 1894, she was married to Frank M. See and to this union two daughters were born, Mrs. Charles (Carrie) Baughn and Opal Fern who died in infancy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, who died on March 10, 1934; her father and mother and five sisters, Nancy See, Emma Hinkle, Lorraine Rothrock and Elizabeth and Carrie who died in infancy.
Mrs. See is survived by her daughter, Carrie and son-in-law Charles Junior, one sister Mrs. Maude Lamb of Queen City, Mo., several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
At an early age she professed her faith in Christ and united with the Liberty Church. She later placed her membership in the United Methodist Church at Glenwood, where she remained an active member as long as her health permitted. She was a good friend and neighbor, always willing to help anyone who needed her assistance. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Services for Mrs. See were held Saturday, November 28, 1970 at 2:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gary Thomas officiating.
Mrs. Maxine Elschlager was organist. Selections were, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Garden."
Bearers were R. D. Kitterman, Howard Smith, Ronnie Shively, Elmer Kearns, Paul Gene Shively and John Kerns.
Flower bearers were Irene Melvin, Cecil Burgher, Irma Scurlock and Mrs. Anna Newland.
Interment was in the Liberty Cemetery, north of Lancaster, Mo.
