Funeral for Melvin Heflin, 78, of Moulton will be Sunday, April 3, 2005, at 2 p.m., at Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Terry officiating.
Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Heflin died Friday, April 1, 2005, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born April 24, 1926, in Lawrence County to Noah Heflin and Bertha Terry Heflin. He was a cattle and poultry farmer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the South Pacific in World War II. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Mr. Heflin was preceded in death by his wife Pauline Heflin, brother, Rubert Heflin, and two sisters, Elvie Heflin Hood and Vivian Heflin Waits.
Survivors include his wife Carlene Terry Letson Heflin; one son, Randy Keith Heflin of Moulton; one stepdaughter, Amy Letson Hamilton of Moulton; one granddaughter, Emili Heflin of Moulton; and two brothers, Reburn Heflin of Moulton, and Willard Heflin of Chicago.
Pallbearers will be Roland Heflin, Chris Heflin, Mark Heflin, Ricky Hood, George Terry and Oneal Hamilton.
