Orangeburg - Mrs. Virgie Bair McDermott, 74, widow of George McDermott, of near Orangeburg died in a Manning hospital at 5 p.m. Saturday after a long illness. Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday in the Dukes Harley Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. W. W. Lancaster officiating, assisted by the Rev. W. R. Shaw. Burial wil be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. McDermott was born in the Four Hole community, a daughter of the late Daniel Frederick Bair and Mrs. Mattie Bozard Bair. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Tom Early, Mrs. E. S. Till and Mrs. Harvey E. Till, all of Orangeburg, and Mrs. N. G. Austin of Cameron.
