A. Rex Mann, 82, widower of Hazel (Allen) Mann, of 2014 Stuarts Draft Highway, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born Oct. 25, 1927, in Greenbank, W.Va., a son of the late Jesse F. and Elizabeth (Vandevander) Mann.
Mr. Mann was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Prior to retirement, he had been employed as an insurance agent with Home Beneficial Life Insurance Co. for a number of years.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Cinthia Janette Mann, and a brother, Wayne Mann.
Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Alan W. and Jackie Mann of Harrisonburg; a daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda M. and Mark Mays of Mount Crawford; a sister, Wanda Matthews of Sevierville, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Valley Baptist Church at 26 Sunny Slope Lane (behind the Auto Advance store) in Stuarts Draft by Pastor Mark Mays. Burial will follow in Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery in Stuarts Draft.
