C. C. Clawson, a pioneer resident of El Dorado Springs and vicinity, where he spent the greater part of his life, died early yesterday morning at the home of his son. E. E. Clawson, southeast of town. Mr. Clawson had been in declining health for several years and became much worse during the past several weeks. He was born on Dec. 1, 1865, and was in his 78th year.

He was married to Julia Ann Conner of this vicinity on July 15, 1886, who died about four months ago. They were the parents of five children, all of whom are living, Elmer E. Clawson, El Dorado Springs; J. E. Clawson, Carmen, Idaho; Carl C. Clawson, Lake Wroth, Fla.; Mrs. Myrtle Thompson, Okmulgee, Okla.; and Mrs. Eula B. Mitchell, South Gate, Calif.

With the exception of about twelve years spent in Idaho and Oklahoma, Mr. Clawson resided the greater part of his life in and near El Dorado Springs. He was a progressive and public-spirited citizen and during the active years of his life was a prosperous farmer and stockman. He served Cedar County one term as Assessor and was well known and enjoyed the warm friendship of all who knew him.

Funeral arrangements which are in charge of the Gwinn-Siders funeral home had not been complete last year. Pending the arrival of his children from a distance.
