Cornelia, Ga., Jan. 15 -- David Sevier Wilbanks, 46, died yesterday at the
Georgia Baptist Hospital following a brief illness.
Mr. Wilbanks was born in Banks County and had lived there all of his life. He
was a son of Mr. and Mrs. G. T. Banks (Wilbanks) who survive him. He was a
member of the Broad River Baptist Church and was active in church and community
affairs.
Besides his parents he is survived by his widow the former Miss Annie Ruth
Smith; a son, David Wilbanks of Baldwin, Ga.; a daughter, Mrs. James Ayers, of
Augusta, Ga.; four brothers, Travis Wilbanks of Cornelia, Telford Wilbanks,
Virgil Wilbanks and G. T. Wilbanks, Jr., all of Baldwin; five sisters, Mrs. Ben
Wilkinson of Toccoa, Mrs. Arzo Newsome, Mrs. Shelton Gailey, Miss Christine
Wilbanks and Mrs. Carmen Andrews, all of Baldwin, and Mrs. Clifford Chitwood of
Canon.
Funeral services will be held Sundau at 2:30 p.m. from the Broad River Baptist
Church with the Rev. Young Dalton, the Rev. Everette Brady, the Rev. Oscar
Miester, and the Rev. Lee Webster officiating. Burial will be in the church
cemetery
