Charles was born in Vernon to Jack Malone Kelly and Mary Imogene Seay. He was raised in the community of Harrold, Texas. He was a graduate of Harrold High School and attended college at Arlington State University, Arlington, Texas.

After college he moved to Perryton where he met and married Nan Rea Hubbard on March 17, 1962 in Perryton, Texas. They had two children: Kathy Lynn Kelly and Jack Charles Kelly Jr.

The last 20 years of his life he lived in San Antonio, Texas. Charles was a contractor, who was self employed most of his adult life. He was a very hard working man and could fix anything.

He was very active in the lives of his children when they were small, coaching basketball, baseball and football.

Charles was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 910, a member of the Khiva Shrine in Amarillo and a 32 degree Mason.

Jack Charles Kelly Sr, age 64, of San Antonio/Castroville, TX, passed away Sept. 13, 2005 in San Antonio, TX. Jack was born Nov. 9, 1940 in Vernon, TX to the late Jack M. Kelly and Mary Imogene Seay Owen. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Jackie Garner.

He is survived by his wife, Nan Hubbard Kelly; daughter, Kathy Lynn Kelly; son, Jack C. Kelly, Jr.; granddaughter, Clara Beth Kelly all of San Antonio.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2005 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Thursday, Sept. 15, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Hills Baptist Church, 910 W. Loop 1604 N., San Antonio, TX. Interment will follow the funeral service at Castroville Community Cemetery in Castroville, TX.
