Harriet was predeceased by her husband, Clarence Freeman, whom she married on 1 Nov. 1925 in Richmond, Va.

"MRS. CLARENCE B. FREEMAN — Funeral services for Mrs. Harriet Foster Freeman, widow of Clarence D. Freeman, of 2 Vanderhorst St., who died at her residence yesterday morning, will take place this morning at 11 o'clock at Connelley Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Palmer Gaillard, Henry C. Cheves III, A. Byron Holmes III, Jennings Foster, Henry C. Cheves, Jr., and T. B. Allen. Mrs. Freeman was born in Charleston in 1882, a daughter of John Ernest Foster, of Charleston, and Mrs. Sarah Leonora Bailey Foster, of Edisto Island. She attended the city schools of Charleston and was an accomplished pianist. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Leonora Foster Cheves; three brothers — Osma B. Foster, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Joshua B. and William B. Foster; and several nieces and nephews." (The News and Courier, Charleston, S.C., 17 Sep. 1946, p. 2, col. 1.)
