She was the mother of Lucinda "Mindy" Hilt.
Mrs. Martha Emeline (Gibbs) Hilt, 73 years old, died at her home ten miles south of Warrensburg, on Friday afternoon at 1:20, January 9, 1925, following a sudden illness of a few hours with heart trouble.
Mrs. Hilt was the wife of John Hilt. Mr. and Mrs. Hilt located in Johnson County soon after their marriage and were well known and respected by all who knew them. Mrs. Hilt was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church of near Leeton.
She was survived by her husband and seven children: Mrs. Nora Hector of Twin Falls, Mrs. Lucinda Miller of Lamar, Mrs. Lucy Cape of the State of Washington, Mrs. Seludia Church of Rich Hill, Will Hilt of Lamonte, Paul Hilt whose address was unknown and Silas who lived at the home address.
Funeral services were from the home. Burial was at the old Fickas Cemetery.
