Mark McCarty
Mark McCarty, 85, of Gould, died Monday at Jefferson Hospital.
He was born at Dixie (Perry County), son of the late Robert and Callie Bennett McCarty, and had lived at Gould for 52 years.
He was a mechanic and a carpenter.
He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lena May Wilson McCarty; two sons, Frank McCarty of West Helena and Bobby Joe McCarty of Gould; two daughters, Mrs. Valda Louise Douglas of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Mrs. Veronica Jane Mangold of Palestine; a half brother, Bruce Butler of Louisiana; two half sisters, Mrs. Emily Copeland and Mrs. Eva Womack, both of Star City; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Johnson Funeral Home at Dumas by Reverend Skip Kelley. Burial was to be in Dark Corner Cemetery near Gould.
