Mother Of Memphis Dies In Cockrum, Miss.
Services for Mrs. Nora Langston, wife of Charles J. Langston, merchant-farmer of Cockrum, Miss., and mother of Tom Swan, 1432 Vance, will be held at 11 today at the Methodist Church in Cockrum. Burial will be in Cockrum. She was 68. Mrs. Langston died at 10 Wednesday morning at her home, where she had been ill for more than a year.
A lifelong Cockrum resident, Mrs. Langston was active in the civic, educational and religious life of the community. She became a member of the Woman's Society of Christian Service at the age of 16 and was affectionately called "Miss Nora" by members. Mrs Langston was an ardent advocate of improved educational facilities and was president of the P.T.A.
She leaves her husband and three daughters, Mrs. J. W. Hudspeth of Cockrum, Mrs. J. M. McReynolds of Starkville, Miss., and Mrs. Tom Hibbitt of Nashville; another son, John Swan of Collins, Miss.; two sisters, Miss Jerome Sage and Mrs. Mamie Hogan of Starkville, Miss., and two brothers, Robert K. Sage and Liston Sage of Drew, Miss.
