Walter James Tobias, died at Rice Co District Hospital after an illness of 24 days.
He was born Dec 17, 1888, at Halifax, PA, and came to Lyons, KS in 1906. He was a retired farmer and member of the Christian Church and Odd Fellows Lodge.
Survivors include the widow, Alice; three daughters, Mrs. Lillie Wright and Mrs. Margaret Birchenbough, both of Lyons; Mrs. Ruth Shenkel, Manhattan; a son, Ansel, Lyons; a step-son, Dale DeArmond, Santa Maria, CA; two sisters, Mrs. Ray Buffington, Elizabethville, PA; Mrs Harry Lennen, Fullerton, CA; a brother, Charles, Halifax; grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Christian Church, Rev. Orvan Gilstrap officiating with burial in Lyons Cemetery. Friends may call at Crawford-Miller Chapel from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday.
