Mrs. Mitchell died May 7, 1993, at the Tyler County Hospital in Woodville.
A native of Joaquin, she had resided in Houston for most of her life before moving to Woodville seven years ago. She was a member of the Woodville Gospel Tabernacle and was widely known in Houston by her Citizens Band Radio "handle" of "Dinah Girl".
Survivors include her husband, James M. Mitchell of Woodville; three daughters, Ramona Lamb of Willis and Lydia Mitchell and Rhonda Grace, both of Houston; son, James H. Mitchell of Woodville; four sisters, Geraldine Bear and Sadie Martinellie, both of Houston, Elizabeth Jean Stewart of Longview and Bertah Skipper of Big Sandy; brother Samuel Taylor of Houston; three grandchildren.
Pallbearers included Spencer Bruton, Sr., Darrell Bruton, Charlie Wood, Jay Tackett, Carl Bruton, and Donald R. Bruton. Honorary pallbearers were William Hartman and Charlie Torres.
