Cory Christopher Williams, 27, of Union City passed away May 8, 2009. He was born April 4, 1982 in Coldwater to Debra (Willbrandt) Booth and Ollie Williams. He married Auna L. Shaffer on April 5, 2008 in Lawton, Oklahoma. She survives. Cory lived most of his life in the Union City area, graduating from Union City High School in 2000. He was a Sergeant in the U. S. Army and was posted at Ft. Sill, OK. He served two tours in Iraq and was honorably discharged August of 2008. He is survived by his wife, Auna; daughter, Parker Paisley, at home; a son, Cameron Christopher of Kalamazoo; mother, Debra (Robert) Booth of Union City; father, Ollie Williams of Athens; two brothers, Eric (Melinda) Williams of Jackson, Adam Booth of Union City; a sister, Renee Weslock of Howe, Indiana; grandparents, Ollie and Bonnie Williams of Reading; many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his Aunt Becky and Aunt Sandy. Cory enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on his Mustang, spending time with his family, especially his son and daughter and he loved fireworks. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 13, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Putnam Funeral Home in Union City. Services will be May 14, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the Putnam Funeral Home with Pastor Ricky Freeman officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Union City. A funeral luncheon will follow the interment at the V.F.W. in Athens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Athens V.F.W.
