William is the son of Thomas Seamark of Yalding, Kent, England and Helen Dusenbury of Troy, Michigan. He lost his mother at the age of 2. He and his younger brother Harry were brought up by his father and step mother Alice Davies on farms in Avon and White Lake, Michigan.

William married Georgina Blundell Oct 5 1897, in West Branch, Ogemaw, Michigan. They lived in Cheboygan, where their 3 children were born - Helen, Henrietta and Thomas. They then spent a few years in Manistique where they lost their daughter Helen. They moved back to Cheboygan and then finally settled in Detroit in the 1930's.

At the time of his marriage, William worked as an agent for the R.R. He is listed as working as a Manager for a lumber company and bookkeeper. He was a well respected man, belonging several gentlemen clubs.
