Jud Moore Greene was a member of Stony Fork Church. He attended faithfully with his family.

After the 1940 Flood he among many others helped build the beautiful Stony Fork Church. He hauled in building materials in his truck.

*Jud Moore Greene was a retired farmer farmer and cattleman.*

His beautiful home is still standing in the Stony Fork area.

Mr and Mrs Jud Greene and family, who lived near Deep Gap, NC. (Now known as Orchard Road) also experienced a restless and exciting night , when flood waters spread near their home and land slides bursting from the very high mountain about struck their house. Weatherboarding was knocked off and the ceiling was torn down from the walls of the kitchen and dining room through which the raging waters entered. They saturated the base board, destroyed the basement, destroying many dozen fruit jars filled aand stored away for winter. Some of the other floors were running muddy water, casing the much anxiety for their safety.

The family did not attempt to sleep that night. The Mother of the home said that they all prayed earnestly throughout the night.
