Weatherboarding was knocked off and the ceiling was torn down from the walls of the kitchen and dining room through which the raging waters entered. They saturated the base board, destroyed the basement, destroying many dozen fruit jars filled aand stored away for winter. Some of the other floors were running muddy water, casing the much anxiety for their safety.
The family did not attempt to sleep that night. The Mother of the home said that they all prayed earnestly throughout the night.
