Donald J. Hoida "D.J.". 74, born in Green Bay, Wis died on Oct 12, 1999. He is the son of Joseph J and Ethyl M. Hoida, who predeceased him. He was married on May 8, 1948 to Mary L. Arndorfer at Annunciation Catholic Church in Green Bay, Wis. Don was the co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Hoida Lumber and Components. He was active in the community and served on the Boards of the Curative Workshop, the former Preble and University Banks, Oneida Gold and Country Club and the Brown County Homebuilders Association. Donald loved his country and served as a navigator on a B17 during World War II. He fought in the 8th Air Force,303 Group and attained the rank of first lieutenant by age 19. Don was an avid golfer, a true friend and a gentleman, as anyone who knew him would confirm.

The rest of his family includes, Mary L. Hoida, his wife of 51 years; his children, Joseph (Cheryl) Hoida, Kay Hoida Dawson, Donald (Ann) Hoida, James (Barbara) Hoida, Thomas (Paula) Hoida; his grandchildren, Jason Hoida, Jessica Hoida, Megan Dawson, Andrew Dawson, Nicole Hoida, Erica Hoida, Andrea Hoida, Nicholas Hoida, Joshua Hoida, Cassandra Hoida, Brandon Hoida, step-granddaughter Kim Marofchek; his sister, Sandra Ann (Raymond) Sauvey.

He will be missed by all who knew him.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct 15, 1999 at Schauer & Schumacher Funeral Home, 340 S Monroe. Visitation will continue after 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct 16, 1999 at Resurrection Catholic Church, 833 Hilltop Dr., Allouez. Mass of Christian Bural 10:30 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Paul Demuth officiating.

In liew of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Don's name to support the interests and education of children.

Schauer & Schumacherr Funeral Home (432-4841) is assiting the family.
