Howard Leon Douglas, 88, of Clinton, Ind., formerly of Hindsboro, Ill., passed away at 11:30 a.m. Friday (Dec. 4, 2009) at his home in Clinton.
He was born on Sept. 21, 1921 in Hindsboro, Il. to Ralph and Ethel Marie Hanks Douglas. On Oct. 16, 1948, he married Marjorie Louise Barnett in Arcola, Il. She survives.
He is also survived by one son, Robert John Douglas of Urbana; one daughter, Brenda Alabaugh and husband Robert of Clinton, Indiana; two granddaughters, Avada Douglas of Boston, Massachusetts and Andrea Deitchley and husband Matt of South Bend, Indiana; one grandson, David Alabaugh of Terre Haute, Indiana and two sisters, Frieda Roberts of Indianapolis and Joyce Seitz of Tucson, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
He served in the United States Navy as a machinist's mate third class.
