He was the son of William and Anna Unthank Cloud and was born in Westfield. He was active in Masonic circles and was a 57-year member and Past Master of the Westfield Masonic Lodge, F. and A.M. 115. He also belonged to the Westfield OES Chapter, 524 and also had served that organizaiotn as a Past Patron. A member of the Knights of Pythias 394, he had been a Past Chancelor Commander. He belonged to the Westfield Friends Church.
Surviving with the wife, May, are two sons, William Stanton Cloud, Carmel; Robert Cloud, Westfield; two daughters, Mrs. Gerald Barrick, R.3, Sheridan; Mrs. Allen Jessup, Indianapolis; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
