The following portion of a biographical sketch of Benjamin Ross, who first settled Ross Mills in the Town of Ellicott, Chautauqua County, New York, mentions his wife's sisters, including Hannah, and their husbands.

"...At the age of 21 Benjamin Ross married Margaret Armstrong of Franklin, Pa., whose twin sister, Isabella, married John Frew, founder of Frewsburg. Her sister, Jane, married Joseph Cameron, and after his decease married Edward Work, founder of Worksburg, now Falconer. Another sister, Hannah, married Simeon Scowden and after his decease married James Conic, all pioneers in this vicinity...."
