She was a member of the Travis Baptist Church in Memphis, Texas.
She met and married John William Hubbard and they had nine children - 3 boys and 6 girls: John William Hubbard, Una Lea Hubbard Gann, Ida Mae Hubbard Wiggins, Earnest Ray Hubbard, Ila Faye Hubbard Booth, Orvilla Hubbard Evans, Nannie Rea Hubbard Kelly, Mary Ellen Hubbard Miller and Edward Dwight Hubbard.
In 1948 they moved their family to west Texas to the little town of Lesley. They work on a cotton farm to support their family. Leona was a hard worker. She would work in the field and then go home to prepare lunch and dinner for the family. It was not an easy life. This is the area they were living in when she died. Several of their family members still live in the near by town of Memphis, Texas.
