ROY WINSTEAD PASSES IN GREAT FALLS
Roy R. Winstead, 64, passed away Thursday morning in Great Falls.
Mr. Winstead was born March 20, 1902, in Morristown, Tenn. The family moved to Missouri when he was 10 years old. He grew to manhood in Missouri and Feb. 24, 1923, he was married to Elsie Mae Hazelwood. He and his wife farmed in Missouri for several years and in 1941 they moved to Oregon where Mr. Winstead worked in lumber mills for several years.
Poor health forced his retirement and he and his wife joined son Roy Winstead and his family at Grand Forks, N.D. He had been visiting between Great Falls and Whitefish for the last couple of years and for the past three months had been in Great Falls.
Mr. Winstead was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was baptized by his son in 1959.
Mr. Winstead is survived by his wife, Elsie, presently in Great Falls; two sons, Roy R. Winstead with the Air Force at Corvallis, Ore.; William H. Winstead of Ulm, Mont.; three sisters, Mrs. Eula Hurtle in Missouri; Mrs. Edith Anderson, Seattle; Miss Mildred Winstead in Pennsylvania; five brothers, George, Ralph and Clifford all of West Boro, Mo.; Charles Winstead of Richland, Wash.; and John Winstead of Tacoma.
The body will be forwarded to the Waggener & Campbell Funeral Home and will arrive Saturday. Funeral services have been set for Monday afternoon at 2 from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kalispell. Interment will follow in the Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
