Elwanda Lois Joiner, 88, of Falls of Rough died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013.

She was born March 20, 1925, in Yeaman, one of 13 children of the late W.B. and Pinkie Beatrice Sarver Smith

She retired in 1981 as a teacher from the Grayson County School System. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and quilting. She and her husband, Leon were married in 1950. She was a member, and also taught Sunday school, at Yeaman Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Leon Joiner of Falls of Rough; a son, Jerry Joiner and his wife, Jackie of Micanopy, Fla.; two grandchildren, Melisa Militello and James Leon Joiner, both of Florida; three great-grandchildren, P. Sam Militello, Molly L. Militello, and Juliet Jaimes Joiner, all of Florida; and a sister, Marion Fentress of Louisville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and 11 brothers and sisters.

The funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 at Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Titus Black will officiate. Burial will be in Porter Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and after 9 a.m. Saturday until the service.
