Death claimed one of Coffee county's six Confederate widows Wednesday morning when Mrs. Susan Thigpen Finley died after an illness of three days. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at eleven o'clock at Chatterton Church and burial will be in the church cemetery, Rev. Jeff Williams officiating.

Mrs. Finley was born in Ware County on December 24, 1848, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Travis Thigpen. Her mother, prior to her marriage was Miss Mary Davis. Mrs. Finley was the widow of the late A. B. Finley who died in 1919. He was a veteran of the War Between the States, having served with Company K, Twenty-Ninth Georgia Regiment. Many of the older residents of this section remember Mr. Finley as a Baptist preacher.
