BOLIVAR HERALD & FREE PRESS 20 FEB 1974 John Richard Frieze, 66, a native of Fair Play and a well known farmer of the Flemington community, died at his home in Bolivar on Feb. 20th, at 3:30 a.m., following a lingering illness. He was a member of the Spring Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Dunnegan, Mo. Surviving him are his wife, Dorthea, of the home, three sons, Johnny, Cape Fair, Missouri, Kenneth of Tampa, Florida, and Donald of Humansville, Missouri, one step-son, John R. Pickett, Nampa, Idaho, three step-daughters, Mrs. Georgia Winfrey, Nampa, Idaho, Mr. Francis DeRossett, Springfield, Missouri, and Mrs. Genevieve McDonald, Visalia, Calif., fourteen grandchildren and six great great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Mable Williams of Fair Play and Mrs. Addie McCracken of Humansville.Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 23, at 1:30 p.m. in the Rondo Baptist Church with the Rev. and Mrs. Lewis Mead officiating. Burial was in the Rondo Cemetery under the direction of Pitts Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Robert Hogan, James H. Skidmore, Harold Roberts, Russell Baldwin, Ralph Butler and Fred Hogan. Honorary pallbearerswere Basil Hopkins, Orla Cooper, Earl Black and Carl Logan.
