Dr. S.J. Hadley died at his home in Hot Springs, S.D. on Feb. 19, 1902, at 5 o'clock p.m. aged 65 years and 5 months.

Sherman J. Hadley was born in Knox County Ohio, September 19, 1836. He was married to Susan J. Bull March 23, 1857, at Lexington, Richland County, Ohio where he lived until the year 1860 when he moved to Albion, Noble County, Ind. In October, 1879, he, in company with his family moved to Arlington, then known as Bell Creek, where Mrs. Hadley died on June 21 1898, and where he lived until last November, when owing to ill health, he sold his property and moved with his family to Hot Springs, S.D. in hopes of benefiting his health.
