Marin Reese (Link) Cozad was born April 13, 1875, near London, Mills, Illinois, a son of Franklin and Jerusha Cozad. He came to Iowa in the year of 1881, settling in Montgomery County, Iowa.
He was married to Anna Totenhagen in Grant on March 11, 1900, and they resided on a farm in Cass County for many years. They moved to Villisca inn 1943.
Mr. Cozad is survived by his wife, three sons, Martin of Villisca, Everett of Omaha, and Wesley of St. Paul, Minnesota; three daughters, Mrs. W. R. Baldwin of St. Paul, Minnesota, Mrs. Roy Eblem of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Mrs. Joe Lysdahl of St. Paul, Minnesota. One daughter, Mrs. Farroll Logue, preceded him in death. There are also 18 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, two sister, Mrs. Lucy Blackburn of Grant and Mrs. Della Atwood of Villisca; two brothers, Albert L. of Orient and Frank of Avon, Illinois.
Mr. Cozad was a member of the Grant Methodist Church.
Services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Villisca, with the Rev. A. breeding of Grant in charge. Cecil Weaver was the soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Frances Gray and the pall bearers were Tubal Peterman, Willis Peterman, Fred Penfold, Floyd Penfold, Frank King and Gerald Penwell. Burial was in the Grant Cemetery.
