BAECHLER, Ray - Passed away, on Thursday, July 20, 2006 surrounded by his family, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener. Ray resided in New Hamburg. He was born 79 years ago, in East Zorra Township and was the son of the late Amos and Katie (Bender) Baechler. Ray was a member of Steinmann Mennonite Church, Baden and also the Wilmot Heritage Fire Brigade. Ray sold cars in the local area for over 35 years. Beloved husband of Arvilla (Litwiller) Baechler, whom he married March 11, 2000. Dear father of Wayne and wife Anne Baechler of Ottawa, Roger and wife Lorrie Baechler, Rich Baechler, Carol and husband Franc Gorenc, Donna and husband Royal Kelterborn, Betty and husband Joe Scherer, Bruce and wife Chris Baechler, Connie and husband Steve McNeil, all of New Hamburg. Sadly missed by 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by the Iutzi Family and his sister-in-law, Viola and husband Victor Dorsch of New Hamburg. Ray was predeceased by his 1st wife, Reta (Gascho) Baechler in 1987 and his 2nd wife, Mildred (Iutzi) Baechler in 1997 and his sisters, Fannie Mae and husband Aaron Yantzi, Annie Mae and husband Elroy Swartzentruber, Erma and husband Mahlon Roth and brother, Wilfred Baechler in infancy. Family and friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg today (Saturday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. again Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 24, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Steinmann Mennonite Church with Pastors Myrna MillerDyck and Steve Drudge officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
