Betty Maxine Bettis, 73, of Hardy died Oct. 24, 2004, at her home.
Born April 29, 1931, in Blytheville, she was the daughter of Stanley Trotter and Susie Bradley Trotter. She worked in the entertainment industry as a comedian for many years and was known as "Ima Hillhopper" when she appeared at the Ozark Jubilee Theater and Hardy Junction Theater. She was a member of Spring River Baptist Church in Hardy.
Survivors include a son, Kirby M. Booth of Hardy; two daughters and sons-in-law -- Debbie and Keith Vawter of Mansfield, Mo., and Betty and Steve McGowan of Judsonia; two stepsons and their wives -- Kenny and Joyce Bettis of Hardy, and Leonard and Carolyn Bettis of Williford; a brother, Bud Trotter of Rockford, Mich.; two sisters -- Dorothy "Tip" Henry of Ravenden, and Louise Duncan of Ash Flat; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde Bettis; and a sister, Leany Noth.
The funeral was Oct. 27 at Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel with Floyd Rikard officiating. Burial followed in the Baker Cemetery near Ozark Acres.
Pallbearers were Cody Cotter, Rodney Duncan, Tommy Duncan, Jerry Duncan, Justin Cotter and Stan Henry.
