Myrel T. Spencer, 95 of Harrod died March 10, 2000 at Lima Memorial Hospital.

He was born Aug. 8, 1904 to Frank and Agatha (Hinkle) Spencer of Hardin County. On July 7, 1927 he married Beatrice Gossard who died June 17, 1972.

He is survived by three sons, Eugene (Edith) Spencer of Kenton, Thomas Spencer of Harrod, and Jerry (Barb) Spencer of Cridersville; three daughters, Barbara Ann Smith of Clearwater, Florida, Kaylene (John) Brinkman of Lafayette, and Nancy (Mike) Greeley of Lima; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren; and one sister Donna Guider of Waynesfield.

He was preceded in death by a son, Bill Spencer; two sisters Abigail Easton and Jenny Lhamon; and two brothers Boyd and Owen Spencer.

Mr. Spencer was a farmer. He was also a member of the Eagles Lodge #370 of Lima, and a former member of the Farmer's Union.

Services were held March 13, 2000 at the Hanson-Neely Funeral Home in Ada with the Rev. Ted Moore officiating. Burial was at Salem Cemetery in Westminster. Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
