Mrs. Mable Baldwin Stanley, 84, of Dobson, passed away on Tuesday morning, Dec. 1, 2009, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born in Wilkes County on May 5, 1925, to the late Edd and Dora Baldwin Baldwin. She was a retired farmer and also worked as a CNA. She was a member of White Plains Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Walker; nine sisters; and three brothers. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and David Lowe of Dobson, Linda and Bobby Shumate of Dobson, Ann and James Hicks of Mount Airy and Patricia Butler of Winston-Salem; her sons and daughter-in-law, Larry and Virginia Stanley of Hillsville, Va., and Tommy and Vickie Stanley of Mount Airy; 22 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday Dec. 4, 2009, in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson with burial to follow in the Welcome View Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Mickey Brooks and Chaplin Todd Byrd will officiate the services. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and at other times at her home in Dobson.
