My maternal grand-mother, Lupe said he worked very hard for the poor living they could "etch out". Pilar and Victoria lived in Pueblo all their lives. But their children all moved to different parts of California, lived and died here. Cosme, Manuel, Sarah, Lupe, Carmen, Frances and Liz.
Cosme and Sarah, returned home to be buried at Roselawn.

Pueblo Resident 50 years Expires
Funeral services for Pilar Avalos will be held this morning at 8:30 in the funeral chapel of T.G. McCarthy & Sons and at 9 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Avalos whose home was at 652 Smelter, died Wednesday. A resident of Pueblo for over 50 years, he was retired five years ago from the Colorado & Wyoming railroad.
He was a member of Mt. Carmel Church. He is survived by his two sons, Cosme and Manuel Avalos, of Pueblo;
Five daughters, Mrs. Sarah Esparza, Fort Lupton; Mrs. Frances Rodriguez, San Jose, Calif, Mrs. Lupe Gallegos, Mrs. Carmen Perez and Mrs. Elizabeth Diaz of Pueblo. Seventeen grandchildren also survive.
