KOUTS--Mrs. Lena C. Schnekenburger, 81, Kouts, died at 4:30 a.m. today at the Holy Family hospital, LaPorte, after a three month illness.
She was born July 28, 1880, in Chicago and lived in the Kouts area for 39 years coming from Wheatfield Center in Jasper county.
She was married on Dec. 12, 1905, to Earl C. Schnekenburger, at Wheatfield. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church in Kouts, a member of the Ladies' Aid society and the Woman's Missionary league.
Survivors are her husband, Earl; one daughter, Mrs. Robert McFeeley, LaPorte; two sons, Carl and Elbert, Kouts; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Two sisters and one brother preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Kouts with Dr. Luther P. Koepke officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul's Lutheran cemetery.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at Kosanke Brothers Funeral home in Kouts.
