George Houston Dismukes
George Houston Dismukes, 92, of Magnolia, Arkansas passed away Friday, May 7, 2010 at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas.
He was born on September 17, 1917 in Columbia County, Arkansas to the late Markus Lafayette and Ola Mae (Fomby) Dismukes. He was a veteran in the United States Army Air Corps serving during World War II, a retired operator for Exxon Corporation, and a member of First Baptist Church in Magnolia.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Edwin Dismukes, and one sister, Lucille Tippett O'Glee.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Dismukes of Magnolia, Arkansas; two sons, Kenneth Houston Dismukes of Magnolia, Arkansas, Karl Nathan Dismukes and wife Jami of Austin, Texas; one daughter, Hilda Dismukes McGuire and her husband Bill of Hazelhurst, Mississippi; five grandchildren, Rochelle Trahan, Josh Dismukes, Joey Dismukes, John-Paul Bourn, and David Bourn; and three great grandchildren, Jordan Bourn, Logan Bourn, and Brandon Bourn.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 10, 2010 at Lewis Funeral Home Chapel in Magnolia with Bro. Roger Dunlap officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia. Family visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Magnolia.
