She was born March 8, 1921, in Sugar City, Idaho, to Heber and Mabel Weatherston. Evva grew up in Plano, Idaho, graduating from Madison High School in Rexburg. She moved to San Diego and met her future husband, Jack Garrett. They were married July 19, 1941. Their marriage was solemnized in 1958 in the Los Angeles Temple.
Jack preceded her in death after 61 years of married in 2003. They were the parents of three children: Christie Thomas (Keith) of Medford, Oregon; Jack (Lorrene) of San Diego; and Cliff (Jean) of St. George. Evva was a great cook and prepared many wonderful dinners for family and friends, always complaining that she hoped it could be eaten. She loved to socialize, finding great joy playing games with family and the "girls" who meant so much to her. She also loved to travel and took many wonderful trips with her husband and family.
She served the Church for many years in the Primary, Relief Society and Library.
She is survived by her children, her sisters, Pearl Madison of St. George and La June Rawlins of Ogden, her brother, Vern Weatherston of Ogden, her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd., Saturday, December 5. Interment will be at St. George Cemetery
