E. A. "Buck" Ward Services Tuesday
Funeral services for Elbert Albert "Buck" Ward, 77, Ava, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ragan-Thieme Funeral Home, Ava, with the Revs. Paul Welch and Tom Johnson officiating. Burial was in Arno Cemetery.
A longtime resident of Ava, and a grocery store clerk and stock, Mr. Ward died at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, 1994, at Meadowbrook Manor, Ava. He was a member of Arno Freewill Baptist Church.
Born May 17, 1917, at Hot Springs, Ar., he was the son of Algie and Susie Smith Ward. On Aug. 30, 1941, he was married to Ruth Blair at East St. Louis, Ill.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth; one son, Rogers of Branson; three sisters, Grace Bracken, Malvern, Ark., and Bertha Siegel and Hattie Ward, both of Belleville, Ill.; one grandson, Stacey Ward; and two great-grandchildren, of Minot, N.D.
