Scottie was born in West Concord, Mssachusetts, and graduated from High School there. Shortly after graduation she married her childhood sweetheart, William LaHiff. They lived for many years in Buffalo NY, then Concord MA, before retiring to Tarpon Lake, Florida. The couple had one child, William Jr., who died in a car accident on Mother's Day in 1972 at age 19.
