ALVA WHITELY HAYNES, SR.
Alva Whitely Haynes, Sr. 82 (should be 81), who resided a t 701 S. Sixth Street, died at 5:28 o'clock last hight at the home of a son, 755 Fifth Street.
He was born in Rockport, Indiana, October 30, 1865. He had lived in Frankfort since 1919.
Mr. Haynes was a member of the Baptist Church of Nicholasville, Kentucky and was a retired Nickel Plate section foreman.
Surviving are five sons, Jesse Haynes, Lima, Ohio; Len Haynes, Frankfort; John Haynes, Camden, Ohio; Alva W. Haynes, Jr., Frankfort, and Woodrow Haynes, Frankfort; one step-son, Cecil Lady, Frankfort; five daughters, Mrs. Ed Miller, Louisville, KY; Mrs. Jesse Littral, Lexington, Ky: Mrs. Charles Puckett Frankfort; Mrs. Harrison Acuff, Detroit, Michigan; and Mrs. Samuel Gray, Detroit.
Two brother, William Haynes, Indianapolis and Samuel Haynes, Corpus Christi, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Lon Thomas, Versailles, Kentucky; 19 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren also survive.
Friends may call at the Goodwin Funeral Home after 5 p.m. Wednesday. The body will be shipped to Nicholasville, Kentucky Thursday afternoon.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Nicholasville.
