Mrs. Wm. R. Anderson, Aged Auburn Resident, Dies
Was in Failing Health Many Years; Nine Children Survive
The death of Mrs. William R. Anderson, aged 84 years, occurred Tuesday morning at 6:45 at the family residence at 234 South Center street, Auburn. Although ill but a week, Mrs. Anderson had been in failing health for a number of years and her demise came as the result of old age. Mrs. Anderson was born in Darke county, Ohio, July 27, 1847. Her maiden name was Louise J. Green and her marriage to Mr. Anderson, now aged, took place July 27, 1865, after Mr. Anderson was discharged from the Union army after the Civil war. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson came to Indiana September 7, 1871, and they moved to Smith township, Whitley county, near Churubusco. They resided on the farm until September 26, 1925, moving to Auburn in the residence where Mrs. Anderson died, on September 28 of the same year.[sic] To Mr. and Mrs. Anderson were born twelve children, nine of whom are living. The surviving sons and daughters are George Anderson, an Auburn restaurant man, Lewis of Fort Wayne, Clarence and Edward G. of Allen county, Ira and Alaery of Churubusco and Charles M. of Detroit. The daughters are Mrs. Sarah Cremer of Fort Wayne and Mrs. Minnie Barrett of Detroit. Three children have died, Lawrence at the age of 16 and Rebecca and Ida in infancy. There were two sets of twins in the family, two boys and two girls. Besides the children and husband, there survive fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Eel River Methodist church near Churubusco. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Eel River church following a short service at the house at 1 o’clock. Rev. E. J. Wickersham, pastor of the Auburn M. E. church, officiating. Burial will be made in the Eel River cemetery.

Wm. R. Anderson of Auburn, has been appointed in the DeKalb circuit court as administrator of the estate of his wife, the late Louisa J. Anderson, who died Nov. 10. The estate consists of $2,500 in personal property. The heirs besides the widower are nine children, Geo. W. Anderson and Minnie A. Barrett of Auburn, Lewis R. Anderson and Sarah J. Cremer of Fort Wayne, Clarence E. Anderson, Ira Anderson and Alleary Anderson of Churubusco, Edward G. Anderson of Arcola, and Chas. M. Anderson of Detroit. The administrator filed $5,000 bond, with six of his children as sureties.
