Earl J. Rhees, 84, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away August 8, 1990 at his home.

Born May 26, 1906 in Pleasant View, a son of Reuben Thomas and Mary Rebecca Tucker Rhees.

He married Ruth Cragun, July 10, 1929 in the Logan LDS Temple.

He had been a bee keeper, dairy farmer, school bus driver for 34 years and Forest Service Technician for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

He was a member of the Pleasant View First LDS Ward.

He served in many positions in the ward and stake and on the 8 stake level.

He was one of the seven presidents of Seventy in the 38th Quorum of the Seventy.

He was president of the ward and stake YMMIA and chairman of the 8 Stake MIA Committee.

He was on the Ben Lomond Stake High Council.

He received an honorary master M-Men award.

He served two full time missions.

One in the Swiss-German mission and later with his wife, in the Tempe, Arizona mission.

He also served in the Family To Family Book of Mormon Program, as a missionary.

He had been district president and on the executive board of the Lake Bonneville Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

He was the first First Class Scout in Pleasant View.

He received an award for 25 years of service in scouting.

He had been on the Pleasant View Planning Commission and representataive of the Weber County Farm Bureau, and Chairman of the Pleasant View Old Folks Committee, for many years.

He loved the beauty of nature and the mountains.

He loved people, both old and young. He was an avid reader and loved the scriptures.

Survived by his wife and children, Delbert and Ovie Rhees, Ogden; Robert and Jane Rhees, Las Vegas, Nevada; Stephen and Charlene Rhees, Kaysville; John and Ann Rhees, Farmington; Ruth Ann and Vern Larsen, Pleasant View; Marian R. Findlay, Layton; Sally and Alfred Shaw, Great Falls, Montana; Carol J. Rhees, North Ogden; Linda J. Rhees, Pleasant View; daughter-in-law, Kathy H. Rhees, Syracuse; 40 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; one brother, Raymond C. Rhees, Boulder City, Nevada; two sisters, Mildred R. Cragun, Pleasant View; Helen R. Chamberlain, Honeyville.

Preceded in death by one son, Larry ``Pete'' Rhees, five sisters and one brother.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, 11 a.m., Pleasant View Stake Center, 3602 North 500 West, with Bishop Kent Cragun of the Pleasant View First Ward, officiating.

Friends may call at Lindquist's North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington, Sunday 6-8 p.m. and Monday at the Ward Chapel, 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Interment: Ben Lomond Cemetery.
