Last Rites for D. H. Baldwin
Carthage, Mo., Jan 28--Funeral services for D. H. Baldwin, 80 years old, formerly of Jasper county, who died Friday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. H. L. Daum, at Fort Scott, Kan., were held this afternoon at Arthur cemetery, ten miles east of Carthage. The Rev. John Alberty, pastor of the Sarcoxie Baptist church was in charge. Burial was in Arthur cemetery. The body was brought here this afternoon from Fort Scott.

Mr. Baldwin came to Jasper county from Nebraska in 1863, at the age of 12 years, and settled with his parents on a farm near Maple Grove, northeast of here. He resided there until a year ago, when he went to Fort Scott to live with his daughter, Mrs. Daum. Mr. Baldwin's wife died twenty years ago at the Baldwin farm near Maple Grove.

Surviving, besides the daughter, are five sons, B. L. Baldwin of Kansas City, J. B. Baldwin of Coffeyville, Kan., W. B. Baldwin of Joplin, J. M. Baldwin of Reeds route 1 and Jesse Baldwin of Sarcoxie.

Mr. Baldwin was a member of the Sarcoxie Baptist church.

Pallbearers this afternoon were James White, James Ziler, Orville White, William Baker, Floyd Moore and Nobel Mopres Moore, all of Maple Grove.
