Warren Calvin Bowman

Bowman, Warren Calvin, 62 of Route 6, Welltown Road, died Sunday evening in the VA Medical Center.

Born March 2, 1921 in Washington County, Md., he was the son of the late John and Rosa Timmons Bowman.

He was a retired lather, having worked for various contractors; was a member of Butler's Chapel United Methodist Church and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy.

Surviving are: his wife, Margaret Miller Bowman, at the home; three sons, Timothy Scott Bowman, Parkersburg, Gary Hess, Harpers Ferry and Marvin James Hess, Cherry Run; four daughters, Shirley McDaniel, Route 6, Stacie Bowman, at the home, Jane Albright, Hedgesville and Darla Parill, Ranson; 13 grandchildren; one brother, John R. Bowman, Martinsburg; and two sisters, Helen Faith, Clear Springs, Md. And Leona Stokes, Hagerstown, Md.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Hess Bowman; and six children, Chester, Alice, John, Dwight, Warren C., Jr. and Brian Bowman.

Services will be conducted Wednesday, 1 p.m. from the Brown Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Lovejoy and the Rev. Emory McGraw officiating with burial in the Butler's Chapel Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home Tuesday, 7-9 p.m.

Memorial remembrances may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, in care of Mildred Stanley, 725 W. King St. or to the Butler's Chapel United Methodist Church Building Fund.
