Richard R. Ladd, 77, formerly of Cloverdale, died at 7:14 p.m. September 1, 2005, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
He was born March 27, 1928, in Cloverdale to Brian and Mary Matson Ladd, who preceded him in death. On July 6, 1965, he married Rebecca A. Akom, who died March 8, 1999. On February 10, 2005, he married Leona Liffick, who survives in Continental.
Mr. KLadd had been a truck driver for Central Soya, Delphos.
Survivors include four stepsons, William "B.J." Martin, Jr., of Cloverdale, Joseph (Katy) Gephart of Frankfort, Ind., David (Becky) Gephart of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Frankie Gephart of Cloverdale; a step-daughter, Debra (Delbert) Watkins of Ottawa; eight grandchildren; a great grandchild; two brothers, William (Norma) Ladd and Paul (Barb) Ladd, both of Cloverdale; eight sisters, Helen Scott of Continental, Elizabeth Basinger of Cloverdale, Edna (Leroy) Halter and Marilyn (Carroll) Pier, both of Oakwood, Alice Evans of Florida, Connie (Wesley) Brown and Sue (Jerry) Wagner, both of Defiance, and Margaret (Gale) Strayer) of Delphos; and two sisters-in-law, Frances Birkemeier of Kalida and Jean Brubaker of Colubus Grove.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dale Ladd; a daughter, Stacy Ladd and a sister, Norma Schwartz.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa. Pastor Donald Rogers will officiate. Burial will be in Cascade Cemetery, Cloverdale.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. MOnday at the funeral home.
