Rachel Amanda Hill, daughter of Andrew Hill and Juliet Campbell married 1842 Joseph Wallace Donaldson, son of William Donaldson and Sarah Wallace, all of York Co., SC.

They lived on Beaver Dam Branch of Allison Creek in York County prior to migrating by 1848 to Tippah Co.,MS. Rachel's widowed mother, Juliet Campbell Hill and her siblings, Franklin Giles Hill, Elizabeth Emma "Betsy" Donaldson who married Joseph's brother James L. Donaldson, Isabell Hill, and Robert Campbell Hill all settled in Tippah County by 1850 census.

Rachel and Joseph Wallace Donaldson named all children in their Holy Bible(extant) now owned by a Mississippi descendant.
