He graduated from Taneytown High School. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on September 24, 1943. He trained as a radio gunner and was sent to England in March 1945. He was killed in a raid over Germany. A memorial service was held at Christ Church on October 7, 1945. His body was returned to the States in March 1949.
