Glenn Temple Johnson, 19, a son of Ted W. and Myrtle (nee Temple) Johnson was fatally injured at 11:45 p.m. Saturday in an auto accident on Griffith Dirve in Orangeburg near the new country club. He was returning home from his brother's wedding reception at the country club, when the accident occured.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Lester P. Banham, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the residence at 1070 Summers NE and Dukes-Harley Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be David Parker, Bud Moore, Mitty Jeffords, Dick Wolfe, Harold Leviner, John Leviner, Mike Carter, and M.F. Campbell, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Orangeburg Fire Department, where Glenn's father works, and friends Terry Watt, Douglas Moss, Wesley Hughes, David Griffith, Danny Leviner, Lynwood Smith, John Webber, Tommy Lightfoot, E. O. Hudson, Sr., E.O. Hudson, Jr., Louis Culler, Tommy Tatum, Jr., Connie Harness, A. L. Brewington, Dr. L. P. Thackston, Jr., Dr. Neil C. Price, Dr. H.M. Eargle, Chester Bledsoe, Harold Carroll, C.A. Mr. Johnson was born in Orangeburg, a son of Ted W. and Myrtle Temple Johnson. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Bamberg unit of the National Guard. He has been employed with the Belk Hudson Stores for the past two years.
He was a graduate of Orangeburg High School class of 1967 and attended the first semester at the Palmer Business College before entering the U.S. Army, where he served 6 months. He was scheduled to return to Palmer Business College in the fall.
He is survived by his parents, 4 brothers, Ted W. Johnson, Jr. of Wrens, Ga, Don W. Johnson of Richmond, VA, Robert Allen Johnson, Sr. of Ft. Pierce, FL, and Charles R. (Dickey) Johnson of Orangeburg, and by many nieces and nephews.
