"Hammond (Indiana) Times", March 30, 1975, page 26: Wade H. Barker, age 72, of 9101 Spring Street, Highland, Indiana, passed away Thursday, March 27, 1975 at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital, Dyer. Survivors: Wife, Virginia; two daughters; three sons; nineteen grandchildren; two great-grand sons; two sisters, Mrs. Adine Little of Carmel, Indiana, and Mrs. Charlotte Martin of South Haven, Miss.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 31, at 11 a.m. from the Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hessville, with Rev. Harold Canady of the Highland Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home, Sunday 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m.
Mr. Barker was retired as a superintendent of Construction; he was a member of Local 41, and had been a resident of the Calument Area for the past 50 years.
Wade and Virginia had 5 children: Eugene Barker, John W., Katherine, Quentin Barker, and Shirley.
