PANHANDLE - Funeral services for Elmer Buell Porterfield, 85, of Amarillo, former longtime Panhandle resident, were to be at 2 p.m. today in Poston Funeral Chapel here.
The Rev. Raymond Hall, pastor of First Baptist Church, was to officiate. Burial was to be in Panhandle Cemetery, directed by Boxwell Brother of Amarillo.
Porterfield was a retired farmer, born in West Virginia. He moved to Panhandle in 1919 from Missouri. He died Wednesday in an Amarillo nursing home. He was a Methodist.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Hollis of Amarillo; brother, Clay Porterfield, Pickaway, W.Va.; three sisters, Mrs. Clarence Brewster, Amonate Va., Mrs. John Riley, Bluefield, Va., Mrs. Geneva White, Martinsville, Va.
