Lewis Francis Pratt, 92, passed away Sunday morning, January 22, 2012, at his home in Humansville. The son of Francis Columbus and Fanny Evelyn (Henson) Pratt, he was born in Sullivan, Missouri, May 9, 1919. He married Elizabeth June Bolander and she preceded him in death December 16, 1994, after 57 years of marriage.
Lewis was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Santa Fe Baptist Church, Boonville, Missouri.
He was a truck driver for the Farmers Exchange, Humansville, and managed a poultry farm for Crawford Oil before moving to central Missouri where he retired from the University of Missouri, Columbia, after 17 years of employment. During this time the family lived in New Franklin and Columbia, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Elizabeth; son Charles Pratt of Amarillo,Texas in 2009; and only sister, Mabel Root, in 1999.
Lewis is survived by sons Roger Pratt and wife Cynthia, of Washington, Indiana; Dennis Pratt and wife Sharon, of Espanola, New Mexico; Ernest Pratt and wife Nancy, of New Franklin, Missouri; Val Pratt and wife Amy, of Humansville; daughter Lori Nelson and husband Ron, of Boonville, Missouri; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at Murray Funeral Home, Humansville, with son Roger Pratt officiating. Burial will follow at the Humansville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service on Wednesday.
